Volkswagen Polo Power Steering Fault
Another common diagnostic job in the workshop at at the moment. The very popular 2014 VW Polo R-line, in for a power steering fault.
Symptoms are – power steering light on and no operation from the power steering.
Fault codes present were 00816 – Power Steering Sensor (G250) after some further tests on the power steering pump we confirmed that all of the relevant power feeds and earth connections were present. Also the CAN-BUS communication data was checked with the oscilloscope, to confirm that the engine control unit and the power steering pump were communicating.
Once all of this was confirmed the pump its self was condemned. New one fitted and the problem was sorted! Another successful VW diagnosed and repaired in Ulverston!
